Bryony Watson is an artist based in North Lincolnshire working primarily in soft pastel. She studied BA Fine Art Practice at GIFHE, where she developed her style of capturing light through monochromatic landscape paintings. The importance of drawing underpins Bryony’s practice, which is strengthened by the daily sketchbook she has kept since 2020. She has exhibited at the Mall Galleries with the Pastel Society in 2023, and at a number of local galleries, including The Ropewalk, The Usher Gallery, and Indigo Crow. She belongs to the newly established OPAL (Open Art Lincs) community, to which she acts in an advisory capacity.
“My work explores the emotional and intangible connection between humans and landscape, often through quiet, monochromatic drawings that focus on light, solitude and the more-than-human. Pivotal to my work is the daily sketchbook I keep- a private, continuous thread of observation and reflection.”
